Following Tiznow is Ouija Board, who won the Filly & Mare Turf in 2004, came second in the race in 2005, and won again in 2006. In other races, Ouija Board secured two second places and a third. Her total prize earnings equalled $2,833,200.
The record for the largest winning margin is held by Inside Information, who won the 1995 Distaff by 13½ lengths. Other notable Breeders’ Cup records for winning margins in races other than the Distaff include
- Street Sense, who won the 2006 Juvenile by 10 lengths
- Countess Dianam who won the 1997 Juvenile Fillies 8½ lengths

- Banks Hill, who won the Filly & Mare Turf by 5½ lengths
The oldest horse ever to run a Breeders’ Cup race was John’s Call, who ran the 2000 Turf at the venerable age of 9 years. The oldest winning horses, both at 7 years old, were Cardmania, who won the 1993 Sprint, and Miesque’s Approval, who won the 2006 Mile.
Out of 169 Breeders’ Cup races since 1984, a total of 61 race favourites have emerged as winners - so backing the favourites isn’t a bad way to go!
