Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf

The Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf was introduced to the Breeders’ Cup in 2007 as part of the meeting’s expansion program.
The grade 2 race is the turf alternative to the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile, and is run on turf over a distance of 1 mile by 2-year-old thoroughbred colts and fillies.
As a turf event, the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf attracts interest from European trainers, who have enjoyed an excellent success rate during the short history of the event. In 2009 the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf will pay out a prize fund of $1 million.
